DIY Natural Hair Deep Conditioner

........... Hello Everyone ...........

Happy New week to you all.... This week I will share with you my DIY Deep Conditioner that I have built trust to this conditioner and I am happy with the result, have been using this conditioner since December last year every once a week during my wash day.

So just quick in pointing out why I use below ingredients without going so deep

Avocado – for deep moisture and to strengthen
Banana – use this for slip (act as detangler) I once tried to eliminate banana in the mix and I added mayonnaise but I did not like the results so I went back and stick with banana
Honey – moisture retention
Egg – For Protein (prevent hair loss)
Oil - Adding oil is option and I just add any available oil nearby, but above ingredients are just enough. But for this conditioner that I am showing you today I used Olive Oil

With my hair length and the thickness of my hair just half avocado, one banana, 1 egg and 1 spoon of honey and added oil was enough for one use

Take your  ingredients in your blender, blend and then … Make sure Make Sure you sieve before you apply to your hair. Sieving will prevent those large particles to stick to your hair trust me they might take a week to come off, it happened to me.

How I use it
     - I apply generous amount of deep conditioner  to my hair (for my case I like to apply to dry hair) from roots to edge, this conditioner is cheap so I don’t worry on how much I use. And immediately after applying I will see my curly pattern popping out “this is the moment of joy” I real like to see my curly patterns and this deep conditioner just gives me that happiness.

         - Cover with plastic bag and Let it seat for 45 minutes and wash it away

After I wash away the DIY deep conditioner, I have 2 options to choose… which will depend on my mood and also depends on the availability of products. This step also helps in taking away that smell of  ***eggs on hair. Either way that I use is okay with me

     1. Either take just regular conditioner like Tresemme or Garnier  and apply to your the hair and wash to take of excessive or remaining DIY deep conditioner on hair (do like co wash)

        2. Or apply moisture deep conditioner and again let it sit for another 45 min while covered by plastic bag and then wash

And that's it once you complete it done... your hair is deep conditioned and health..... its simple and very very cheap!!!

I am sure you can find the time to do this DIY
If I can definitely you can too

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and please share your DIY deep conditioner with me in the comment below

Jamaican Black Castor Oil

...........  Hello Everyone ...........

So 2016 is here and we are counting down to complete the first month of January... so far so good I am still in the line

This week I received my bottle of Jamaican Black Castor Oil, it is the first time I have purchased the JBCO though previous I had the normal castor oil. I have read so many good reviews of this oil with said benefits to hair growth. Some benefits of JBCO are as below (source)

1. Increase hair growth
2. Thicken hair that is starting to thin out
4. Reduce and prevent hair damage
5. Eliminate dry hair
6. Make the hair fuller and shinier
7. Deeply condition and moisturize hair and scalp
8. Prevents dry scalp
9. Boost your hair’s overall health

How I am going to use this oil

I want to use this oil at list 3 times a week on my edge and roots (especial of edges)
When styling I will use it to seal my ends
Once a month include this in my hot oil treatment

What I want for this oil to work for me

I would like this oil to do a miracle on my edges
To promote my hair grow
To stop hair shading (i have this problem and I hate it)

This journey starts today 21.1. 2016 and is going to be in phases.... First phase which starts now is going to be a 3 months challenge. Then I will do my first review, which will also determine if I should proceed in the second phase.

Below are my current picture of my edge and hair length

I am so excited to include this in my natural hair journey and I so hope for this to work for me too.

I know many people have used this oil, please fill free to leave comments below and let me know what are your reviews

Thank You and Nice Weekend

Hello December 2015

........... Hello Everyone ...........

When I say hello I remember Adele, hope many of you or all of you have listened to this song called “HELLO by ADELE” this is amazing song……. I love love love it.  If you have not listen to it yet link is here

So I think I am starting my December 2015 with hello…………………… Hello from the other side, hope you are well…. And you are now reading this post!!!

As we approach to the end of year and as I approach to my biggest holiday celebration ever Christmas and New Year, can’t wait for the celebration. Since my childhood our family and community around us we would celebrate so much in these two celebrations than any other in a year. I guess this would be one reason I love this December

And by the way, I am currently rocking  protective style, here we call them Afro Kinky Hair Style, but I guess some people call it something like Marley braid “I don’t know” and whatever the name I just like this style,  it’s just simple and cute

I hope to blog a lot this month....

Thank you and Cheers

Natural Hair Upate - Hair Texture and Focus

..........   Hello Everyone   ..........

I thought of taking a close picture of my hair and give an update of what I have been doing. So till now I rank my natural hair as 4c hair type…. I am not professional hair stylist but  I tell you this due to the tight coils that my hair has and that ability of my hair to shrink once dump proves to me that is 4C natural hair. Someone may say otherwise but to me this is 4C type hair

At this early stage of natural hair journey, there are the 2 activities I want to focus on, one is moisturizing and other is prevent breakage. Since I big chopped my hair, I never focused on taking care and or doing maintenance for that reason I experience drying and breakage of my hair. Due to that moisturizing my hair now priority and prevent hair breakage.

I do moisturize everyday without a miss by following the LOC method that is L as water or/and water based leave in, Oil may be coconut or avacado oil and finishing up with the thicker butter.

On my side I use water, coconut oil and some thick leave in  that I current have as a sealer. Though I am looking forward in doing a DIY on shea butter so that I can make my own shea butter cream as a sealer but for now let me use what I have.

That's it for today and Thank you for taking your precious time to stop by my blog and please share with me your experience in the comment box below

My First List - Natural Hair Products

When you enter in a world of natural hair journey, there are lots and lots of information you will be taking in... But I swear the hardest part is Products and Products and Products. Apart from being a lot of information out there but there is a lot of different brands that sells natural hair products. If you are new like me you get confused. I personally was confused on what will be my first products

So this where in my first list

1st ........ Water

2nd ........  Coconut Oil and Castor Oil

3rd ....... SheaMoisture Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Masque

4th ........  SheaMoisture Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner Jamaican Black Castor Oil

5th ........  SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner

6th .......  SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Though for the time being I will not do kind of a review because I just them may be in future after 2 to 3 times using them will come back with reviews and things like that.
But the challenge I see right now is me getting products to where I live, it’s so difficult to find natural hair products retailers in Tanzania right now though I will keep searching. Expept for water, coconut oil and castor oil, all products have been bought online from US.

FIRST POST - NATURAL HAIR JOUNERY

Hello People!!

I had been wanting to have natural hair somewhere in 2011 and started doing some research here and there, watching some VLoggers on how to grow natural hair!! If I could seriously go natural at that time I would be like 3 or may be 4 years by now. But that did not happen and I stayed with my relaxed hair till 2013.

This was 2013 when I big chopped

So in 2013 I did a big chop, I just decided to rock short hair for a while not with the intention of keeping my hair natural…. After being with short hair for like 1.5 year I thought why not start my natural hair journey. And here I am

What I have been doing? currently, I have been research from either Bloggers or Vloggers to learn from fellow natural hair buddies for their experiences and challenges…..  Though most of these Bloggers and Vloggers are from USA or Europe so its not so easy to take everything from them with the fact that even weather condition differs from where I live... some very few from Africa and I have not seen anyone from Tanzania yet except Aisha from MyAfroandI embracing her natural hair journey but she lives in South Africa. Apart from that there is a lot of information out there that anyone can learn and acquire important information to start with while you learn to take-care of your own hair

Clean and Washed Hair in 4 Sections

Why I am I taking this to blogging? its not necessary for me to blog about hair... its not necessary at all.... I do this because I find importance of sharing this journey and may be we can both get to learn from my journey.. get to know on natural hair, products and also encourage someone either in Tanzania... or Africa.... or anywhere on this Earth that they can grow their natural hair from wherever they are now

Clean and Washed Hair

So lets see how this will go... please join me in this journey and will always be appreciating your comments
